Ages ago I read a very interesting meme called What's in your fridge? Loads of food bloggers participated and I had a lot of fun poking around their fridges as I'm basically extremely nosey. So I've revived it. Here's what's in mine right now, from top to bottom and then into the door, though bear in mind that this is a mid-week view and the fridge is usually much fuller after a weekend shop:
Sumatra coffee / palm sugar / shrimp paste / umeboshi plums / cherry jam / pickled walnuts / gherkins / udon noodles / cucumber and Japanese radish relish / cream cheese / freerange, organic eggs / two chicken breasts / strawberries / chorizo / fresh figs / grapes / tamarind paste / red chilli bean sauce / green curry paste / hot lime pickle / pomegranate preserve / live natural yoghurt / black bean sauce / Turkish flat bread / red peppers / a carrot / aubergines / ginger / spring onions / fresh parsley / Turkish cheese / Parmesan / feta / jalapenos / tartare sauce / caramelised red onion chutney / capers / pomegranate molasses / HP Sauce / Heinz tomato ketchup / pitted black olives / fizzy water / Ribena light / apple juice / milk
What's in your fridge? I tag Silent One, Broom, Tommy, Bombay Beauty, Lottie, Hypatia, Olivia, Joop, Southways, Leslee, Beth, Kate, Childwoman, Mumbai Girl, 30in2005, and anyone else I've forgotten. Please leave a comment within this post when you've completed the meme so we can all go check it out.

i have been lurking for a while and enjoy your blog. it is like a refined edition of time out for me.
what do you use the pomegranate molasses for?
Meera
Oh how cool is this!
I am never without capers, btw, but this time they're not in the fridge.
Looooove hot lime pickle, also figs.
Ate two sweet tamarind pods tonight.
curious about the umeboshi plums.
The first thing that crossed my mind is..'what clean refrigerator'!! hehehe...maybe its the typical middle class indian girl in me said that....!! so I am going to prepare myself and take up the meme....wish me luck!
wow...this definitely looks like a good cook's fridge. So full yet organised.
thanks for tagging me...it's time to do some inventory check...*scared* hahaha
We have very similar things in our fridge!!!!
Oh dear... my fridge is almost entirely empty, all the time. It looks like I don't cook and only eat takeaways but that's not the case!
Nothing stays in my fridge long enough to be documented; I shop, then cook, then eat, then shop again... I've adopted the "little and often" approach with enthusiasm just as I gained a double height fridge. I blame the total lack of a freezer in this new flat. Give me another three months and I'll hopefully have a much more interesting fridge for you all...
What a clean fridge you have !!
Have done the tag and enjoyed it too, thanks.
I've just opened mine and it's shameful. Half a bag of salad, some organic goats cheese, vodka and mango pickle. How I can let anyone see this?
Welcome Meerkat - You can buy pomegranate molasses from any Middle Eastern store. Try this recipe for Moroccan Meatballs or this recipe for Lebanese chickpea and aubergine stew.
Hi Olivia - I use the umeboshi plums as an accompaniment to Japanese noodle or rice dishes. They're quite tart but I think you'll enjoy them.
Hi Childwoman - Can't wait to see your (clean) fridge ;-)
Hi Joop - Welcome again. I'm quite anally retentive about tidiness and organisation I'm afraid. Most people who meet me think I'm a Virgo rather than a Leo .
Southways - I saw your post and so badly want the contents of your fridge! I asked you on your blog what you use the preserved lemons for, but I forgot to ask what type of dishes you use pomegranate molasses for too.
Hypatia - it's because I know you cook that I wanted you to do this meme. If only a single shelf!
Silent One - I will go check it out now!
Mallika - I still want to see - of all people I'd love to see yours the most! You are one of my favourite food bloggers!
PH, most of our pomegranate molasses and preserved lemons based recipes are from Sam & Sam Clarke’s books Casa Moro (I prefer this to their first book The Moro Cookbook). Have you been to their restaurant in Exmouth Market?
hi PH,
Am going to take this up when I'm back from India. And after I clean out my fridge & get rid of last years aubergine stuffed with peanuts.
:)
Southways - yes we use that book too, as well as Claudia Roden books. I have to try one of the recipes requiring preserved lemons.
Yes, I went to Moro. My husband loves it but I found the food a little too oily for my liking. But I will try it again.
Broom - I look forward to it!
Everyone, K&S from Japan has also blogged the content of her fridge. Do check it out.
Will do the tag-have to take my laptop down to the kitchen.
I'm doing mine now, just uploading the photos. Where do you get palm sugar from?
I've been away but once unpacked I'll get to the fridge!
Lottie, Mumbai Girl - look forward to it!
Tommy - we bought the palm sugar from Oriental City in Colindale.
Phew! I am done and it's tough work. Never knew my fridge had so much stuff in it:

Now I will sit back and check out yours :D
hi PH!! I have done the tag!! check out my blog!
Hiya!! well, pavbhaji masala consists of 13 spices...but we get the powder from the store :P same with ajinomoto :PP!!
And we make the ginger garlic paste at home, we also make ginger garlic and green chili paste at home, that, mainly is used to marinate chicken or seafood...
Hi Joop and Childwoman - Thank you. It's fun isn't it?!
