The Big Apple 1

We stayed again at the very trendy Hotel on Rivington in the Lower East Side and kept bumping into Philip Glass there at breakfast and in the elevator / Our suite had floor to ceiling windows on each side with luxurious views over Manhattan / And a fantastic mini bar with organic juices, real juice jelly beans and Babeland goodies / And my favourite Ren products in the double shower bathroom / And an amazing Swedish tempur-pedic sleep system bed with high thread count pure white sheets / Breakfasts in the hotel's spacious and airy Thor restaurant included homemade granola, divine eggs benedicts and huge blueberry pancakes / The LES comes alive after work and our first night was spent drinking in Schiller's Liquor Bar filled with old mirrors and antique white subway tiles / It felt great drinking in a smoke-free environment and I was surprised by how few people were smoking on the streets too / Rib-eye and fillet steaks with fries followed by pancakes con leche at the heaving and dark Azul - steaks as good as Gaucho and in an ambience as down to earth as Santa Maria Del Buen Ayre / Though my best steaks ever were eaten in Hill City, South Dakota - but that's another story / It's good to be back in NYC.
